FlameShieldä high temperature and heat resistant Kevlar aramid tape / webbing is fabricated from high quality yarns that will not burn and will withstand continuous exposure to temperatures of 320°F / 160°C. It provides excellent protection for industrial wires, cables, hoses (hydraulics), tube and pipes and also provides thermal insulation and personnel protection. Kevlar is highly cut resistant, making this tape especially suited where contact with sharp edges is a concern.
These tapes / webbings do experience end fray when cut as there is no binder present in the tape; there are several methods of reducing the fray: please visit our FAQ section for further information.

Kevlar products are difficult to cut due to their strength. Regular or heavy duty scissors can sometimes cut these materials, but often fail quickly as the Kevlar quickly dulls the cutting edge.
Kevlar Shears are specifically designed to cut Kevlar, and feature a serrated blade so that the fibers don’t slip while cutting, holding the fiber in position and allowing for a greater shear force to be applied by the opposing blade.
These shears a Extra Heavy Duty, and can be used for other materials such as cutting steel wires and steel tie wraps.
